We enjoyed warm Southern California sun on the cruise, checking out Shipwreck Rapids and Manta. The hotel was clean and comfy. The staff was super friendly. Practical info, even though they offer good amenities, be sure to double-check room features to avoid any surprises!
The parking situation was a bit confusing, with limited space at the gas station next door.

missingWrote a review on Jul 11convenient locationmultiple dining optionsoutdated furnishings
Location offers easy access to major freeways, making trips to downtown San Diego and local attractions quick and convenient. The presence of multiple dining options nearby adds to the overall appeal.
Upon arriving, I was met with loud party noise in the lobby, which felt chaotic. The room cleanliness left a lot to be desired. furniture seemed dated with peeling wallpaper and stained carpet. Parking fee of $20 felt excessive, especially when part of the lot was essentially an alley next to a convenience store. I also faced issues with housekeeping. towels were difficult to obtain, and I noticed a lack of maintenance in common areas, like unaddressed trash and unclean stairwells throughout my stay.

It's just a short drive to downtown san diego, balboa park, and the zoo! anna at the front desk was amazing and made us feel super welcome. i really liked the 24-hour fitness center, which was a great perk for us as a family with children.

The location of the Holiday Inn in La Mesa is really convenient, especially for getting to local attractions and the freeway. The room I had was a standard queen room, and I found the bed to be quite comfy. However, I noticed that cleanliness could improve. I spotted some dust in the corners and a dirty sock left by a previous guest under the table. The noise from the hallway and outside was bothersome, making it hard to relax. The breakfast had some great options, but they sometimes ran out of food early. Parking can get tricky during busy times, too. The staff were friendly and helpful, but I experienced a long wait for housekeeping to address some requests. Overall, the hotel had potential, but improvement in cleaning and sound insulation would make a big difference.

Would recommend for a brief retreat
Clean, comfortable room, welcoming staff that managed to provide an upgraded room for our stay even though we initially booked a king, and convenient amenities like wi-fi and a fitness center to keep our family entertained while exploring the local area.
No complementary breakfast for everyone.

Breakfast was tasty, especially the scrumptious pastries that made my mornings. Plus, the staff serving breakfast were on point—super friendly! The room was clean and comfy, making it a cozy spot to unwind after exploring local eateries like Mesa Grill and Nonno's Ristorante Italiano.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t informed that the pool would be closed upon arrival, and I had to hunt down basic essentials like soap. Cleaning felt like pulling teeth. only saw housekeeping once in over a week. The laundry machine devoured my change, and I ended up downloading an app just to wash my clothes. Talk about a hassle!
